Talking Therapies

Talking Therapies

Funded by WHSCT

CALMS is part of the Western Trust’s Talking Therapies programme, offering six sessions of either low intensity CBT or counselling to clients referred by their GPs.

Low intensity CBT is facilitated by Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, or PWPs, all of whom have undertaken an M.Sc. in Applied Psychological Therapies and are accredited by the British Psychological Society. Our PWPs work with clients struggling with mild to moderate mental health problems, as well as those with long term health conditions, working with evidence-based treatments to effect change and ease distress. All work to the highest standards of clinical governance.

Our counsellors are highly trained, and will work with you to formulate a plan of care best suited to your needs within the timeframe. As with our PWP’s, they are subject to the highest standards of governance.

If you feel you would benefit from this service, please speak to your GP or practice Mental Health Practitioner who can discuss a referral to the Talking Therapies Hub.
