Counselling

Funded by VSS

If you feel you want to talk to someone, it’s possible that speaking to one of our Counsellors who are trained to listen can help you to explore your feelings and emotions in a safe, secure, conducive environment. Our team of counsellors describe themselves as “Integrative”.  Simply put, this means that rather than specialising in one traditional approach, they seek to combine multi modal approaches to adapt to your own personal needs. Our team of Counsellors are all members of B.A.C.P, I.A.C.P. or N.C.S. and hold their own personal indemnity insurance. Our Counsellors will explain clearly to you how you will work together and what you can expect. Hence the term co-designing your own Care Plan.

Professional Testimonials

I have worked with CALMS in a professional capacity for almost 18 years. Throughout this time, CALMS has grown from strength to strength in terms of the excellent service they provide to the local community. Their service is quite unique in that they offer high quality psychological therapies, fully qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapist (specialising in Trauma), in addition to Psychological Well-being Practitioners (PWP's) (who provide low intensity CBT for anxiety and depression) and CBT therapists, who offer more high intensity CBT for more complex mental health issues.
